Moving to another country always means getting acquainted with new things, new cultures and best of all, discovering the food. Having lived in Singapore for about three years now, I think I can safely say that I have covered enough of the food scene to confidently recommend some of the restaurants/cafes that I frequent regularly.

Afterglow

This is an amazing raw restaurant located on Keong Saik Road. It’s a great place to go for lunch and/or dinner if you like your meals full of flavour and boasting creative flair – who doesn’t? The restaurant itself has a warm and rustic feel to it which immediately makes you feel comfortable and at home. It’s my go-to place for lunch meetings where I can enjoy a productive session and a wonderful meal both at once! If you do get the chance to drop by, do try my favourite - the raw Taco Bowl.

The LoKal

A twist on the classic Aussie café, they provide all customers with great homemade food — including yoghurt, sauces and pickles - all made on site. The atmosphere here is vibrant and it’s one of my favourite places for breakfast. I’d recommend the “Pimp Your Breakfast” poached eggs, avocado and pepita toast!

This place is a must try for coffee lovers! These guys really know how to make the perfect cup of coffee and it’s obvious that quite a few people agree with me judging by the steady stream of customers. This place is buzzing on the weekends and it is where you will find me on a Saturday morning after Yoga. I highly recommend the boneless Chilli Chicken.

Relatively new to Singapore, these guys bring a whole new meaning to tasty, healthy food. With a breakfast, lunch and dinner option, this perfectly located restaurant is a must try! Service is fast and efficient, the food is amazingly fresh and it’s right smack in the CBD.
