There's always time to spoil yourself and pamper yourself with a spa experience! However, as relaxing and much needed as it is, it can also cause a huge dent in your purses! The good news is you can also give yourself a pampering session at home - no more driving out on busy roads, arranging schedules to make appointments and waiting for your next paycheck to go to a spa.
We've shared a few recipes for some DIY face masks but we’ve decided to make it even simpler for you with these one-ingredient masks. Yup, no more excuses for not taking care of your skin – it’s that easy to feed your skin with the good stuff! All you’d need to do is maybe add a bit of water to get the right consistency and texture.
Go Bananas!
Say goodbye to botox, and hello to youthful wrinkle-free skin! Packed with anti-oxidants and moisture, this yummy fruit is not just a healthy snack filled with potassium but can also help your skin by revitalizing it. With its ability to control oil and maintain skin elasticity, this is one great ingredient for a mask. Buy a bunch of bananas to turn into a mask (and snack while you have your mask on!).
All you need to do is mash one ripe banana. The quantity differs according to the size of the fruit, but usually one piece does the trick. Whip it into a smooth paste-like substance, then apply it and gently massage it into your face and neck. When doing masks, always remember to include your neck as well. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and wash off with cold water. You can also combine bananas with other natural ingredients such as yogurt and honey.
Yogurt Goodness
Not just a healthy snack or meal choice, yoghurt also does wonders for the skin. Skip going to expensive treatments, because yoghurt can give you a similar effect as a chemical peel. It helps with exfoliating and clearing the top layer. This helps with evening out skin tones as well as helps with getting rid of blemishes. Yoghurt also has anti-ageing properties.
Just apply natural yoghurt on your skin to help with cleaning and cleansing your skin. The yoghurt will work to tighten pores and lighten scars. Add some lemon juice if you'd like an extra bleaching agent to help with acne marks and such. This cooling mask should be left on for at least 20 minutes, so take a quick nap to further relax yourself while waiting.
All About The Honey
Let's take a moment and thank the bees for producing this beautiful gold liquid! Honey has many properties and is mostly known for its antibacterial properties. This can help your skin inflammations to subside and get rid of acne. It is also moisturising.
Due to its consistency, honey is easy to apply as a mask. Not only is it thick, but due to its sticky nature it stays on the skin well when slathered on. You can also add in some cinnamon if you’d like as it has antiseptic properties as well as helps with anti-ageing too. Leave on for 15 minutes then gently massage and rinse off with warm water.
All these masks can be done either once or twice a week as it is also great to allow your skin to just be. The results may not be immediate, however the transformation will be worth the wait.
