Beauty is a characteristic that people all over the world are trying to achieve, whether they admit it or not. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but whilst makeup and other treatments can alter our aesthetics, it’s when we work with, and not against, nature that we can see some amazing results.
Here are 7 beautifully simple ways to make that happen:
1. Drink more water
Just drinking 3 litres of water a day can change your complexion, giving you a younger, fresher and more vibrant look. The specific amount to drink will vary based on your size. I always recommend that you aim for 1 litre per 25kg of body weight. To jazz up your sky juice, try infused water that's filled with lots of nutrients!
2. Increase your intake of raw, natural and organic foods
Plant-based foods are most nutritious when they are raw, especially those containing water-soluble vitamins such as the B’s & C’s and heat-sensitive minerals. This means that their nutrients are reduced drastically the longer you cook your food. On top of that, important enzymes get destroyed in the cooking process. As for non-organic foods, some may contain chemicals or hormones. Non-organic chicken, for example, contains hormones that may cause pimples or even acne. Therefore, if you want to avoid this and seriously nourish your body, increasing raw and organic foods in your diet is the way to go.
The effects of eating this way will show very quickly. Your skin will become smoother, you will have more energy with fewer dips during the day, your quality of sleep will be improved and you will increase your vitality.
Good nutrition is easy to see when you compare women of a similar age who have nourished their bodies well. This video demonstrates the amazing results of 40 years of eating natural, raw food:
You don’t have to go 100% raw, simply include more raw foods in your diet.
3. Ditch Sugar, Alcohol and Cigarettes
All of these will make you look much older much faster as they speed up the ageing of your cells. Have you ever compared someone who smokes with someone who doesn’t of the same age? This should be all the evidence you need.
4. Get your beauty sleep
Enough sleep, which is around 7-8 hours according to scientists, will give your body enough time to rebuild, regenerate, rest and reduce stress hormones. It’s not called beauty sleep for no reason.
5. Get your blood circulation pumping
Have you ever noticed your fresh skin tone after exercising and the spark in your eyes? Get sweaty a few times per week to help your body release toxins, tone up and get your blood circulation up.
6. Reduce the chemicals in your environment
Nowadays we are bombarded with chemicals; not only in our food, but also in cosmetics, homecare products and the environment generally. Whenever possible, choose to go natural and even organic. Certain beauty products and sunscreens can clog our pores. Certain chemicals cause skin irritation. Chemicals in our food can disturb the natural metabolism in our bodies and may lead to water retention, headaches and feelings of discomfort.
7. Be Happy
I think most people would agree that the most beautiful people are happy people. It’s so important to nurture your happiness by spending time in places and with people that make you happy. Furthermore, spending some time in the sunlight when the rays are not too strong (morning and evening), so you don’t need sunscreen, is another great tip as it increases your mood and gives you a healthy glow.
Enjoy your life, play and be grateful!
