To Invest In A High-Powered Blender Or Food Processor? Here’s Our Pick

Pros:

Cons:

Can’t process ingredients that have too much liquid so not ideal for smoothies and soups

High-powered blender:

What it does:

While a normal blender can make milkshakes and smoothies, the high-powered version does it in less time and can handle more ingredients even if they’re frozen. Some blenders can even handle hot ingredients, e.g. blend vegetables and broth into a creamy soup. 

Pros:

  • Powerful motor
  • Easy to use and clean
  • Blends quickly to save time
  • Ideal for those who often make smoothies and soups with plenty of fruits and vegetables
  • Is a long-lasting appliance if looked after well

Cons:

It is more costly compared to a normal blender but does so much more and is an investment rather than a kitchen appliance whim; it’s quite big so you need counter space

Commonly used for:

Smoothies and smoothie bowls (able to blend ice and frozen fruits and vegetables without chunks), puree soups and baby food, grinding coffee beans and spices, make smooth nut butters, nut milk, making your own flour (oats, rice, coconut)
