PurelyB #HealthyRamadhan Movement

The beginning of Ramadhan signals the start of a month-long daily fast for Muslims all over the world. From sunrise to sunset, those who observe this month will abstain from food, drink, forbidden things, and focus on prayer, self-reflection and betterment.

Message from the Founder

b2ap3_thumbnail_jesrina-founder.jpgFasting during Ramadhan is beneficial to one’s health. It gives the digestive system a break and allows the body to naturally detox itself. When done correctly, you should feel energised and refreshed, and this is where we come in. As our mission at PurelyB is to encourage healthier lifestyles, for the month of Ramadhan we will be featuring articles, tips and recipes to assist you in making healthier decisions. Eating healthily and in moderation, and incorporating exercise during this month can be healing and give us renewed energy in facing our everyday challenges. 

All too often we take what we have for granted; be it our health or our wealth, and the month of Ramadhan provides us with the opportunity to take a step back, take stock of all that we have to be grateful for, and also to help ease the burdens of those less fortunate.

In the spirit of giving this Ramadan, the PurelyB team will be teaming up with Dish By Ili to host a Buka Puasa dinner for the children at Rumah Kasih Harmoni Paya Jaras, in partnership with Yayasan Generasi Gemilang. Dish By Ili will be treating the children to her homemade delicious and healthy dishes, while PurelyB will contribute a cash donation that will go towards the running of the home.

Rumah Kasih Harmoni Paya Jaras is a welfare home for orphaned boys and girls, children from single parents or parents who have left them in the care of the home. The home director and caretaker was also an orphan from this home and grew up to take over the care of the home and the children. PurelyB is honoured to be given this opportunity to contribute and do our part, and we would be delighted if you (and your friends) would join us in our #HealthyRamadhan movement!

HOW TO GET INVOLVED?

  1. Share a photo of your healthy Ramadhan moment (Example: a healthy recipe, a healthy ingredient, working out, eating healthy food, engaging in outdoor activities, sports, walking, nutrition tip etc.) on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. (Do ensure your account is made PUBLIC in order for us to view your photos)
  2. Tag us in the post with: #PurelyB and #HealthyRamadhan (Last entry post by July 17th 2015, 12PM)

As part of our commitment to our Muslim brothers and sisters this Ramadhan, the PurelyB team will donate an additional RM1 to Rumah Kasih Harmoni Paya Jaras for each post*, on top of our initial cash donation as mentioned above.
