Some of you may be familiar with this drink, whereas some others may have seen it recently on social media. Turmeric mixed with milk, or haldi dooth (in Hindi) has caught on in the West as a healthy drink and is popularly known as turmeric latte!
Asians have been using turmeric for a long time and with good reason - its amazing properties are beneficial in so many ways.
Some properties of turmeric include:
- Antiseptic in nature – used to heal wounds
- Good for skin
- Anti-inflammatory – useful in treating cold and coughs
- Improves anti-oxidant capacity of the body
- Lowers the risk of brain diseases
- Helps fight depression
- Most popular of all – helps prevent cancer
So how is turmeric latte made?
Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm milk
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper powder
- Optional – brown sugar or honey to taste
Method:
