Discover Fun and Social Ways to Workout in KL
We all know where to go to find gyms and fitness classes in Kuala Lumpur – but what about those hidden workout gems? The ones that are more than just grinding on the treadmill and are centred around a strong community of like-minded people? You may not know this, but they do exist here in Kuala Lumpur. And lucky for you, they are in abundance!
Acrobatic Yoga is for everyone; combining a healthy mix of strength, balance and concentration. If you are ready to fly, there is a beautiful acro yoga community which meet regularly all around Kuala Lumpur for morning and evening jams. For a visual smorgasbord of what acrobatic yoga is all about as well as to find out where they’ll be next, check out the KLAY (Kuala Lumpur AcroYoga) Facebook group.
If you thought that you had good balance, slacklining will put you to the test. The first step is to be able to stand on the slackline and then walk - sounds simple enough, huh? Once you’ve mastered that, the next step is to learn all of the cool tricks that you can do while balancing up there. Slackline KL usually meets on the weekends at Titiwangsa for its jams and you can check out their Facebook page for more details.

With their guiding mantra of "where there is a bar, there we will do calisthenics!” Bar-Ragazz is a Kuala Lumpur-based calisthenics team that aims to inspire people to work out without a trainer or gym. Just bring yourself to one of their street workouts and they’ll provide the bars, the training and most importantly, the motivation. Check out their Facebook page for more information.
Have you ever wanted to jump over obstacles? Have you ever wanted to make Kuala Lumpur more than just a city - rather, turn it into an urban playground? If you answered ‘yes’, then parkour is for you. Parkour, also known as freerunning focuses on getting from point A to point B in the most efficient way possible. If that means climbing up walls, so be it. Like all other communities there are classes, however check out these two groups to get a feel of what it's all about - Parkour Kuala Lumpur, and Next Phase Association which focuses on absolute beginners.
Other Workout Communities in Kuala Lumpur
